What is the River Flow?

At Little Ponderosa you'll see signs stating what the current CFS is day-to-day. We post this because it helps our patrons know what to expect when they enter the river. Release Levels refer to the amount of water being released from Canyon Lake to the Lower Guadalupe River in CFS (Cubic Feet per Second). Please know that any body of water can be dangerous and you should take proper precaution! These are recommended levels for water sporting activities.

What Floats Do You Offer?

We offer several floats each summer! Typically we offer a 2-hour, 4-hour, and 6-hour floats, however these will depend on the CFS of the river. Check our Facebook and Instagram pages each weekend to plan ahead!

Planning Ahead? Floating with a Large Group?

When floating with several friends or families plan ahead! Practically, this looks like calling Little Ponderosa River Outfitters several weeks in advance. We will put you on our calendar and send you the paperwork for your group! Also, you'll want to check our Facebook and Instagram pages to see when post the CFS for the river flow. This will help you decide as a group what float you'd like to do!

Other things to consider: How many tubes will your group need? Does your group want to float in  tubes with bottoms or not? How many coolers are your group bringing? Do you want a discount? Groups of 12 or more who pay together on one transaction will receive $2.00 OFF per rental!

Can I take my {Insert Valuable Item}?

Yes, you can....BUT we don't recommend it! Valuable items should be left at home or at least in a locked vehicle. Every. Single. Year. we find car keys, expensive eyewear, sunglasses, cell phones... you name it! Not only is it an expensive loss but it also ruins your trip. Nobody wants that!! Save yourself the hassle and money by just leaving it behind!

Should we bring a trash bag?

Great Question! And thanks for thinking of the environment, but no. WORD of Comal County supplies outfitters like Little Ponderosa River Outfitters with these awesome mesh trash bags. We send you out with at least 1 per group for free!! But please feel free to take as many as you need to keep our beautiful Guadalupe River clean! Our wildlife appreciate your efforts. Also, there is a fine - Violators can be fined up to $500. In any case, "Don't Mess with Texas".

Can I get out anywhere and call y'all to pick me up?

Absolutely NO! Little Ponderosa River Outfitters partners with other Outfitters in our area. This means when we drop your group in the water, you should stay in the water until you've reached the "get out location" discussed (2,4,or 6 hour float). Exiting on PRIVATE PROPERTY is not tolerated. We have wonderful neighbors who appreciate our business and our customers, and we want to keep it that way! If you have questions while in the river, you may try to call us at (830) 964 - 3202.

What about Medical Conditions?

Everyone should consult with their primary care physician before tubing, kayaking, or rafting the river. Even long stretches in the Texas heat could be overwhelming! If you have a medical condition and will need assistance please call us ahead of time! Also, bring people who are aware of your condition and can assist you on the river in case of an emergency. If you need to take medication while on the river we suggest a water-tight river box that is attached to your person at all times. Drink plenty of water and bring protective swimwear and eyewear. If you have a medical emergency while on the river please call 9-1-1 first and then our main phone line at (830) 964 - 3202
